PAIN OF SALVATION has been at the forefront of the progressive rock and metal scene for nearly three decades. Led by the charismatic multi-instrumentalist Daniel Gildenlöw, the Swedish band has consistently pushed musical boundaries, remaining both sonically innovative and lyrically thought-provoking.
From their early metal masterpieces “Entropia” (1997), “The Perfect Element, Part I” (2000), and “Remedy Lane” (2002), to the experimental “Be” (2004) and the unconventional “Scarsick” (2006), PAIN OF SALVATION has delivered some of the boldest and most captivating moments in modern prog. With “Road Salt One” (2010) and “Road Salt Two” (2011), the band explored a more vintage rock aesthetic, while “In The Passing Light Of Day” (2017) was a deeply personal and emotionally charged album.
Their latest release, PANTHER (2020), is an ambitious concept album dealing with the clash between “normal” people and those who function differently. Gildenlöw and his band have always had the rare ability to craft musical experiences that demand attention, provoke thought, and reveal their full complexity through multiple listens.
The presence of Daniel Gildenlöw and Johan Hallgren further enriches the festival lineup, adding an exclusive and intimate element to the VIP experience. Those who were there on that January night in 2007 at Underworld Club, know exactly what to expect…
